O título do trabalho nasceu do teor das mensagens postadas pelo público. Majoritariamente favoráveis ao tratamento policial da questão e ao uso da força e armas de fogo contra os dependentes, elas expressam também o desejo de ver as mesmas políticas aplicadas a outros grupos. Nordestinos, sem terra e gays são alguns dos seus alvos. No fluxo dos textos despidos das imagens, desvela-se um tecido social contaminado pela cultura do ódio. A Cracolândia se expande, como se fosse uma lente através da qual podemos ler a cidade. Transforma-se no ovo da serpente… Através da fina membrana, pode-se ver o réptil inteiramente formado.

Odiolândia foi comissionada para a exposição inaugural do Sesc 24 de maio, “São Paulo não é uma cidade”, com curadoria de Paulo Herkenhoff e Leno Veras.”

The title of the work was born of the content of messages posted by the public. Majorly favorable to the police treatment of the issue and the use of force and firearms against the dependents, they also express the desire to see the same policies applied to other groups. Northeastern, landless and gay people are some of their targets. In the flow of texts stripped of the images, a social fabric contaminated by the culture of hatred is unveiled.

The Cracolândia (Crackland,a place where a group of people gather to smoke crack) expands, as if it were a lens through which we can read the city. It becomes the serpent’s egg … Through the thin membrane, one can see the fully formed reptile.
