Diana Domingues é uma professora, pesquisadora e artista multimídia brasileira.

Teve uma formação tradicional em Belas Artes mas logo seu interesse se voltou para técnicas não convencionais de produção artística, inspirada por um curso ministrado por Walter Zanini sobre a obra de Marcel Duchamp, passando a trabalhar com fotomecânica e xerografia. Nos anos 1980 dirigiu em Caxias do Sul o Atelier Livre da UCS e o NAVI, trazendo artistas, críticos e teóricos para darem cursos e palestras. Suas pesquisas levaram-na a focar sua dissertação de mestrado sobre bagagens de imagens e processamentos eletrônicos. Esse trabalho, desenvolvido na Escola de Comunicações e Artes da Universidade de São Paulo, teve boa repercussão, gerando um convite para dar curso na mesma escola em 1991. Seu doutorado aconteceu na PUC-SP, com uma tese intitulada Imagem Eletrônica e a Poética da Metamorfose, e em seguida apresentou uma instalação multimídia interativa na Bienal de São Paulo.

Nos anos 1990 estreitou contatos com pesquisadores e artistas de vários países, fazendo exposições internacionais e organizando em 1995 um simpósio no Memorial da América Latina, junto com uma exposição no MAC-USP, abordando vários aspectos da ligação entre arte, imagem e computação. Em 2002 lançou o livro Criação e Interatividade na Ciberarte. Sua linha de atuação se consolidou em torno das transformações das imagens na passagem de um meio para outro e em suas relações com o corpo, o processo de criação, o funcionamento da mente, a matemática, a computação, os sistemas orgânicos e os de inteligência artificial.

Realizou mais de trinta exposições individuais e mais de cem coletivas, já foi citada em diversas publicações internacionais, e é autora de vários artigos em livros e revistas especializadas. Na VII Bienal de Havana, em 2000, recebeu o Prêmio da UNESCO para a Promoção da Arte. Coordenou o grupo de pesquisa Novas Tecnologias nas Artes Visuais da UCS, integrando pesquisadores e bolsistas das artes, comunicação, informática e automação industrial. Atualmente é coordenadora do LART, Laboratório de Pesquisa em Arte e TecnoCiência, na Universidade de Brasília campus do Gama e atua como Professora Visitante Nacional Sênior-CAPES. É professora colaboradora no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Artes na UnB e no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Eng. Biomédica na FGA-UnB.

Diana Domingues is a Brazilian teacher, researcher and multimedia artist.

He had a traditional formation in Fine Arts but soon his interest turned to unconventional techniques of artistic production, inspired by a course given by Walter Zanini on the work of Marcel Duchamp, starting to work with photomechanics and xerography. In the 1980s he directed in Caxias do Sul the Atelier Livre of UCS and NAVI, bringing artists, critics and theorists to give courses and lectures. Her research led her to focus on her master’s dissertation on baggage of images and electronic processing. This work, developed in the School of Communications and Arts of the University of São Paulo, had good repercussion, generating an invitation to attend the same school in 1991. His doctorate took place at PUC-SP, with a thesis titled Electronic Image and Poetics of Metamorphosis, and then presented an interactive multimedia installation at the São Paulo Biennial.

In the 1990s he made contacts with researchers and artists from various countries, making international exhibitions and organizing a symposium in 1995 at the Latin American Memorial, along with an exhibition at MAC-USP, addressing various aspects of the link between art, image and computing. In 2002 he launched the book Creation and Interactivity in Ciberarte. His line of work was consolidated around the transformations of images in the passage from one medium to another and in their relations with the body, the process of creation, the functioning of the mind, mathematics, computing, organic systems and intelligence artificial.

She has performed more than thirty individual exhibitions and more than one hundred collective, and has been cited in several international publications, and is the author of several articles in books and specialized magazines. At the VII Havana Biennial in 2000, he received the UNESCO Prize for the Promotion of Art. He coordinated the research group New Technologies in the Visual Arts of UCS, integrating researchers and scholars of the arts, communication, computer science and industrial automation. She is currently coordinator of LART, Laboratory of Research in Art and Technology, at the University of Brasília Gama campus and serves as Senior National Visiting Professor-CAPES. She is a collaborating professor in the Post-Graduate Program in Arts at UnB and in the Graduate Program in Biomedical Engineering at FGA-UnB.
